Companies to provide health data
E-Health Trend Watch, February 23, 2007
Thomson Micromedex in Greenwood Village, CO, and A.D.A.M., Inc., in Atlanta, a provider of consumer health information, will provide consumer-oriented health, drug, and lab information to hospitals, health plans, health Web portals, and pharmaceutical companies. The companies will codevelop integrated solutions that combine A.D.A.M.'s health information with evidence-based drug information from Thomson to help patients better understand their medical conditions and treatments.
Available in the first quarter of 2007, the health information resource features illustrated health and drug encyclopedias, a drug interaction checker, personalized health risk assessment tools, and interactive treatment option tools.
Healthcare organizations can integrate these solutions with Web portals and hospital information systems and customize them to reflect their brand identity. Terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
