Bush proposes reduction in ASC inflation increase
Ambulatory Surgery Reimbursement Update, February 20, 2007
President Bush proposed to reduce the inflation increase for ambulatory surgery centers (ASC) by 0.065% starting in 2010 as part of his presidential budget for the 2008 fiscal year, according to a brief posted on the FASA Web site.
Hospitals and other providers would see the same cuts beginning in 2008 if the budget is approved by Congress.
The proposed budget also calls for an increase in funding for "Survey and Certification in order to ensure appropriate oversight of health care facilities," according to the FASA brief.
