Missouri launches drug price Web site
E-Health Trend Watch, February 16, 2007
The state of Missouri has launched a Web site called MoRx Price Compare. The site, created by Missouri Lieutenant Governor Peter Kinder and the Department of Social Services' Division of Medical Services, provides information about issues related to prescription medicine, safety and cost-savings tips, and programs to help Missourians pay for prescription medications.
The site lists prescription medication prices for the most commonly used prescription drugs in Missouri based on the usual and customary price reported by local pharmacies. The prices on the site do not factor in discounts or insurance. Those using the site enter the name of their medication, dosage and quantity, and search location to compare medication prices at pharmacies in Missouri.
