Vermont closer to first freestanding ASC
Ambulatory Surgery Reimbursement Update, February 13, 2007
The proposal for an ambulatory eye surgery center received approval last week for the center to receive a Certificate of Need (CON), bringing it one step closer to becoming the state's first freestanding ASC, according to a story from the Barre Montpelier Times Argus.
The state's Public Oversight Commission approved recommending the center receive the CON from the Banking, Insurance, Securities and Health Care Administration under the stipulation that the center be limited to eye surgery and related procedures.
The proposal comes from the Eye Surgery and Laser Center of Vermont, owned by ophthalmologist Dr. Juli Larson.
The center would be located in South Burlington.
