Computer stolen from Emory University

E-Health Trend Watch, February 9, 2007

Emory University in Atlanta has sent letters to 38,000 patients who have been treated for cancer at Emory Hospital, Emory Crawford Long Hospital, and Grady Memorial Hospital. According to an Atlanta Journal-Constitution article, the letters warn the patients that a computer containing their personal information was stolen from a business contractor in Ohio. The university advised those affected to put a fraud alert on their credit reports to prevent identity theft.
