Labeling specimen bags

Specimens that are sent in-house between departments or floors can be put in a regular zip bag without the biohazard symbol since you can see through it and know what the specimens are inside the bag.
However, any specimen sent to you from the outside or that you send out to another facility must be in a bag with the biohazard symbol.
OSHA requires anything with a biohazard symbol to be disposed as biohazard trash.
