Coding tip: Review Medicare Bulletins
Ambulatory Surgery Reimbursement Update, February 6, 2007
The information in Medicare Bulletins isn't just for physicians-surgical facilities should review bulletins each month when they are released and take note of any policies (called Local Coverage Determinations (LCDs)) related to procedures performed in your facility.
You must follow the list of covered diagnoses on the policy to be reimbursed on Medicare claims for procedures which have an LCD.
