Board devises plan to reduce overtime spending

A nursing home board of trustees in Bedford County, TN, concluded that overtime expenditures should be reduced at their facility, according to the Shelbyville (TN) Times-Gazette. Some employees at the facility were repeatedly clocking in early to increase their income with overtime pay, according to reports. As a result, the nursing home will give training sessions for personnel and begin a time study. The training will teach employees about time studies and their impact on cost reporting when institutions claim reimbursement from the federal government for medical services provided to nursing home residents, reported the Times-Gazette.
