Facility loses funding; residents consider moving out
LTC Liability Monitor, January 22, 2007
Half of the residents of a Lexington, KY, nursing home will lose their Medicaid benefits if they stay at the troubled facility, which was terminated from the Medicare and Medicaid programs today, reported the Lexington (KY) Herald-Leader. CMS notified the nursing home in late November that its funding would be cut off because of an alleged ongoing pattern of poor resident care. The nursing home filed a lawsuit against CMS challenging the termination of its funding, but the suit was unsuccessful, according to the Herald-Leader.
