Iowa consumers can decide whether price is right
Healthcare Strategist Trend Watch, January 19, 2007
The Iowa Hospital Association launched a Web site last week that allows patients to obtain information about the costs of healthcare at Iowa hospitals.
Iowa Hospital Price Point, located at www.ihaonline.org, is free and hosted by the Iowa Hospital Association. Users can find out how much stroke treatment, angioplasty, knee replacement, childbirth, and other inpatient procedures cost at hospitals throughout the state. The site also allows consumers to compare costs at as many as four hospitals at a time.
