Savings on the go
Healthcare Strategist Trend Watch, January 19, 2007
A mobile marketing program that connected Cingular Wireless customers with discounts at retailers Quiksilver, Mandee, and f.y.e. is being called a success by the retailers. The three stores were able to create exclusive offers during the holiday season and generate return traffic in the new year.
"The Insider Deal" campaign, which ran through the holiday shopping season and into January 2007, used text messages to offer discounts to technology-savvy customers. Those who texted keywords using a Cingular phone instantly received discounted offers that could be redeemed at the three stores.
Access Media 360 developed the program, which offered 30% off at Quiksilver, buy-one-get-one-free at f.y.e., and a gift with purchase at Mandee.
