Drug suspect causes hospital lockdown
Healthcare Security Weekly, January 15, 2007
A drug suspect caused the lockdown of the Heartland Regional Medical Center in St. Joseph, MO, January 8, reported KMBC-TV in Kansas City.
The Buchanan County sheriff and hospital security ordered the lockdown after a drug suspect, who was possibly armed with a gun, fled police and ran into the hospital to hide. After two hours of searching the hospital and failing to find the suspect, officers gave the all-clear and ended the lockdown. Deputies said the suspect fled after police made an undercover drug buy.
