Residents evacuated after water line broke
LTC Liability Monitor, January 15, 2007
About 84 residents at a Colorado nursing home were evacuated Saturday night after a water line broke in their facility, according to TheDenverChannel.com. The water pipe that burst was attached to the fire sprinkler system. When it blew, water came through the ceiling and eventually flooded the facility's entire east wing. Some residents were taken to a local middle school, while others were taken to hospitals and area nursing homes. No residents were injured during the event, but the Red Cross and the Salvation Army responded to the crisis. A local school district also helped out by bringing food to the residents, reported TheDenverChannel.com.
