The seven of '07
Healthcare Strategist Trend Watch, January 5, 2007
Addressing consumer attitudes will be a priority in 2007, according to PriceWaterhouseCoopers' (PWC) Health Research Institute's "Top Seven Health Industry Trends in '07."
Consumers believe greed is behind rising healthcare costs, the report says, and health executives must bring fresh ideas and insight to address consumers' views and regain trust.
Among the trends for 2007 are a need for the healthcare industry to provide patients with more information, upgrade to electronic health records, and tackle the obesity epidemic. PWC also predicts individual states will take charge when it comes to providing healthcare for the uninsured, stem cell research, and regulation of pharmaceutical marketing.
The complete report can be found at the PriceWaterhouseCoopers Web site.
