Memphis hospital to install $2.9 million brain-mapping machine

LeBonheur Children's Medical Center in Memphis, TN, won permission from the state to purchase and install a $2.9 million machine that can map the brain by function, according to an article in The Memphis Business Journal. It will allow neurologists and neurosurgeons to look inside a human brain and map its functions and diseases with pinpoint accuracy. The machine's immediate use will be in planning brain surgery.
