OBTV helps doctors monitor obstetric patients
E-Health Trend Watch, January 2, 2007
Doctors and nurses at Baptist Medical Center Nassau's maternity suite in Amelia Island, FL, have been using a technology called OBTV for the past several months, according to an article appearing in The Florida Times-Union. The technology allows doctors to use ultrasound to monitor fetal heart rates and a tocotransducer to trace maternal contractions during any phase of labor. Staff can view these important data on computer screens anywhere in and outside the hospital, according to the hospital's press release.
