South Dakota hospitals receive federal grant money

The state of South Dakota has awarded $202,000 in federal grants to six rural hospitals for efforts to improve patient safety, according to an Associated Press article. The funds are from the Medicare Rural Hospital Flexibility Program, which has provided $2 million to state hospitals over the past seven years. The state awarded the funds to hospitals in Faulkton, Huron, Parkston, Platte, Wagner, and Winner.
