Web site compares nursing homes in New York
LTC Liability Monitor, December 18, 2006
A new Web site ranks nursing homes in New York state, reported the Associated Press (AP). The ratings are based on measures including whether residents were depressed, physically restrained, or spent most of their time in bed while in the facility. Click here http://www.NYhealth.gov to access the updated Nursing Home Profile. It also lets users access inspection reports and a facility's history of complaints. Another measure includes the percentage of residents who were given flu vaccines. The 19 quality measures were not previously listed on the site. Homes are ranked relative to other nursing homes in the state and are not compared to nursing homes nationally, according to the AP.
