Former facility owner to receive free legal support

One of the former owners of five Boston-area nursing homes, who is accused of stealing from residents and employees, will receive free legal assistance from a court-appointed lawyer because he was ruled indigent, reported the Braintree (MA) Forum. The former owner is charged with resident neglect, Medicaid fraud, theft of residents' personal funds, conspiracy to steal those funds, embezzlement of employee wage deductions intended for funding 401(k) retirement contributions, and embezzlement of life and disability insurance premiums, according to the Forum.
