Indiana to publish error data
E-Health Trend Watch, December 1, 2006
Indiana will begin publishing hospital-specific data on 27 types of medical errors in 2007. The state will post a preliminary report on the Web in February and a final report in July. The state will become the second, following Minnesota, to release hospital-specific error data. The various types of errors include wrong-site/wrong-patient surgeries, adverse events from contaminated drugs, patient suicides, and infant discharges to the wrong person.
