NQF approves AAASC membership
Ambulatory Surgery Reimbursement Update, November 30, 2006
The National Quality Forum (NQF) has approved the American Association of Ambulatory Surgery Centers (AAASC) for membership, according to a press release from AAASC.
The membership was approved at the NQF meeting of its board of directors last month.
"AAASC has been a leader in bringing together organizations with an interest in ASC safety measures and in working closely with CMS to achieve education and outreach to inform Medicare beneficiaries on the value of ambulatory surgery centers" said Craig Jeffries, executive director of AAASC, in the press release.
The NQF describes itself on its Web page as "a private, not-for-profit membership organization created to develop and implement a national strategy for healthcare quality measurement and reporting."
The addition of the AAASC brings the number of organizations in the NQF to 265.
