Dallas County prisoner overpowers guard, flees hospital
Healthcare Security Weekly, November 27, 2006
A Dallas County sheriff's prisoner escaped from the Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas on November 20 while being treated for possible seizures. The 32-year-old man, who allegedly had a sharp object, overpowered a female security guard and fled the hospital, reported the Associated Press.
An Oklahoma trooper captured him the next day. He had been in jail on charges of robbery and impersonating a public servant. Security video showed the man forcing the guard to unlock his leg irons. He ran away with an intravenous line still in his arm.
