Join National Influenza Vaccination Week
LTC Liability Monitor, November 27, 2006
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention designated this week as National Influenza Vaccination Week to raise awareness of the importance of giving the vaccine, according to CMS. Since flu activity typically does not peak until February or later, November and December still provide good opportunities for vaccination to prevent sickness that can be fatal in the elderly. CMS invites your facility to join in this event as an opportunity to ensure that people with Medicare get their flu shot. Remember, influenza vaccination is a covered Part B benefit.
