Orthopedic surgeon receives subpoena for using therapy codes
Rehab Private Practice Alert, November 8, 2006
The Kentucky Board of Physical Therapy issued a subpoena to an orthopedic surgeon in the state seeking billing records to determine if he improperly used two CPT codes associated with physical therapy, according to the AMNews.
The board is claiming that Ronald Dubin, MD, is not allowed to use the codes as part of the state's practice act because he is not licensed to perform physical therapy services.
Dubin has already turned over records stating how many times he used the CPT codes in question, but is refusing to turn over specific patient records, reported the AMNews.
