Former Cleveland Clinic worker and relative charged with fraud
E-Health Trend Watch, November 10, 2006
A federal grand jury in Miami indicted a former employee of the Cleveland Clinic and Health Management Associates and her cousin with identity theft, computer and healthcare fraud, and violating the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996. The conspiracy involved nearly $3 million of fraudulently submitted Medicare claims.
