Gates Foundation donates $500 million

The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation of Seattle has donated $500 million to the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis, and Malaria. It is the largest private donation to the fund, which was founded nearly five years ago to serve as the primary financing vehicle for efforts to fight the HIV pandemic, tuberculosis, and malaria. The money will be distributed over five years.
