Cross-dressing con man allegedly impersonated female nurse
Healthcare Security Weekly, October 30, 2006
Police charged an alleged cross-dressing con man suspected of impersonating a female nurse at three hospitals in Canterbury, New Zealand with burglary, reported The Press newspaper. Police on October 24 charged the 26-year-old suspect with unlawfully taking three cars from hospital parking lots, burglary, and fraud.
The man surrendered to police after he was suspected of impersonating a registered nurse at Princess Margaret and Christchurch hospitals, as well as a possible third facility, the newspaper reported. A Canterbury District Health Board official would not comment on the man's activities as a "nurse." The man faces the burglary charge for allegedly walking into a hospital transport center and stealing keys for a car.
