CDC provides new resources on MRSA

Infection Control Monitor, October 27, 2006

With Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) in the news recently, the CDC has provided healthcare professionals with more resources on this issue. Look for the new MRSA resources in the Healthcare Settings Web page the CDC posted this month.

While MRSA occurs most frequently among patients in hospitals and healthcare facilities, such as nursing homes and dialysis centers, a community-acquired version (CA-MRSA) can infect people who have not been recently hospitalized or had a medical procedure.

To find the new Web page, which has links to CA-MRSA education materials, fact sheets, and posters for healthcare staff and patients, go to www.cdc.gov/ncidod/dhqp/ar_mrsa_spotlight_2006.html.
