CCHIT certifies 11 ambulatory EHR products

The Certification Commission for Healthcare Information Technology (CCHIT) has approved 11 new ambulatory electronic health record (EHR) products, adding to the list of 22 products approved in July.

CCHIT was awarded a contract by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services in 2005 to develop, create prototypes for, and evaluate certification criteria for EHRs. Ambulatory EHR products must meet more than 200 criteria for functionality, security, and interoperability to receive CCHIT certification. The following products were approved in the latest round of testing:
