Report ranks state medical board Web sites
Healthcare Strategist Trend Watch, October 20, 2006
New Jersey ranks first and North Dakota last in a survey of the content and user-friendliness of doctor disciplinary information available online, according to a report from Public Citizen, a nonprofit consumer advocacy organization in Washington, DC. The report rates state medical board Web sites for content and usability. According to the Public Citizen press release, most sites were "seriously deficient" in providing this information to patients.
Users can find the detailed board scores for each state and recommendations for improving the Web sites at www.citizen.org.
