Facility finds success with athletic therapists
Rehab Private Practice Alert, October 11, 2006
An outpatient rehab facility in Corvallis, OR, has found that patients, especially ones coming back from sports-related injuries, appreciate working with physically fit PTs, according to the Corvallis Gazette-Times.
Some patients have specifically sought out PT Nathan Smith, who is known for engaging in triathlons.
The facility is receiving feedback from patients who say they feel that active therapists have a better understanding of what athletes' needs are and what it's like to endure pain, the Gazette-Times reports.
The facility doesn't require its PTs to be athletes, but those who are have seen positive comments from patients.
