Tests show no Legionella at Pennsylvania facility

LTC Liability Monitor, October 17, 2006

A State College, PA, nursing home has returned to normal operations and will accept new residents since tests for Legionella bacteria have come back negative, reported the Associated Press (AP). Three cases of Legionnaire's pointed to the facility as a common link, but extensive testing at the nursing home found no evidence of the bacteria. All follow-up resident and environmental tests have come back negative, and barring any new cases operations should return to normal, according to the AP.
