Nursing home abuse charges unfounded
LTC Liability Monitor, October 11, 2006
Investigators cleared a nursing home in Elizabeth City, NC, of any wrongdoing after finding no evidence to support a claim that a worker abused a resident, reported The Daily Advance. A friend of the resident filed a complaint with authorities claiming that the resident suffered deep bruises to her arms and legs after a nursing home staff member handled her roughly as she was trying to get out of her wheelchair. Attorneys said, however, that there was no evidence to support the claim that any injuries were caused by staff, according to The Daily Advance.
