New tool will streamline the clinical trials process
EHR Connection, October 2, 2006
Siemens Medical Solutions has developed a new solution to transfer clinical data gathered at the point of care into electronic data capture systems for clinical trials. Siemens worked with the Technical University of Munich to develop the system, which offers pharmaceutical companies real-time data that's immediately transferred from a patient's EHR to the trial management system.
According to the company, the tool will streamline the clinical trials process for pharmaceutical companies, which usually must enter clinical data manually into electronic formats. The solution is also compatible with any EHR and electronic data capture systems and is being tested in a pilot study that began in June, according to Siemens.
