Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Florida launches calculation tool

Jacksonville, FL-based Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Florida has launched CareCalc. Patients can use the tool to uncover how much the insurer will pay for a particular service before an office visit. The insurer is planning a controlled deployment of the tool to a select number of physicians in mid-October. The tool processes the steps of an actual claim, providing the amount that the insurer would cover and the member's financial responsibility.
