3M earns RFID contract with the U.S. Army

St. Paul, MN-based 3M announced that it has signed a three-year, $3.76 million contract with the United States Army to develop and install a radio frequency identification device (RFID)-based system to track medical records. The Army will track a portion of the files at its Fort Hood Army base in Texas. It is the largest active duty domestic base and houses the active medical records of more than 150,000 men and women stationed at Ford Hood as well as the records of their dependents.
