ASC leaders form group to determine quality measures
Ambulatory Surgery Reimbursement Update, September 13, 2006
Prominent members of ambulatory surgery center (ASC) associations and companies have formed a group that will attempt to determine a set of standard quality measures for all outpatient surgery settings, according to a press release from the American Association of Ambulatory Surgery Centers (AAASC).
"These measures will be used in discussions on pay-for-performance, responding to state data collection initiatives, collaborating with payors and others in providing consumer information, and benchmarking information primarily for quality improvement goals in individual ASCs," according to the statement.
The group, called ASC Quality Collaboration, includes representation from the American Association of Ambulatory Surgery Centers, FASA, the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care, the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations, several ASC management and development companies, and other healthcare associations.
For more information on the group, contact the ASC Quality Collaboration coordinator, Donna Slosburg, at 727/867-0072 or you can e-mail Donna by clicking here.
