AAASC creates proposed rule resource Web page
Ambulatory Surgery Reimbursement Update, August 22, 2006
The American Association of Ambulatory Surgery Centers (AAASC) recently developed a Web page offering resources on Medicare's proposed changes to the ambulatory surgery center (ASC) payment system.
The page includes numerous links to information to help ASCs grasp the potential impact of the proposed rule on their facilities.
The links include the following:
- Ambulatory surgery-specific sections of the proposed rule
- Proposed expanded list of ASC-approved Medicare procedures
- List of current ASC-approved Medicare procedures with information on which procedures would see their payment rates reduced to the hospital outpatient prospective payment system level as required by the Deficit Reduction Act of 2005
