Medicare posts hospital payment information
E-Health Trend Watch, August 18, 2006
In June, the Department of Health and Human Services, through its Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), posted information about what Medicare pays for 30 common elective procedures and other hospital admissions. The information will help consumers, providers, and payers make informed healthcare decisions. The information shows the range of payments by county and the number of cases treated at each hospital for various treatments provided in fiscal year 2005.
