CMS proposes 5.1% cut to fee schedule; no exceptions process
Rehab Private Practice Alert, August 16, 2006
CMS released its proposed regulations last week, which included a 5.1% reduction to the physician fee schedule and no plans to include an exceptions process to the Medicare therapy cap, according to PT Bulletin Online.
The reduction in the fee schedule is in part because of extra money spent on physician services. Therapists could also face a 4% reduction in the fee schedule's relative work values and practice expense calculations.
The deadline to submit comments on the proposed rule is October 10.
