Pennsylvania chiropractor arrested for providing fraudulent therapy
Rehab Private Practice Alert, August 9, 2006
Gary Weissberger, a chiropractor from Jackson Township, PA, was arrested last week on charges of money laundering and Medicaid fraud, reported the Allentown Morning Call.
Weissberger, who was a partner at All Care Pain & Rehab, allegedly repeatedly billed patients for physical therapy services they did not receive. Several of the patients never even visited the clinic, according to the charges.
In other instances, Weissberger charged patients who never saw a doctor and only visited the clinic, the Morning Call reported.
Weissberger faces six charges, each of which is punishable by up to seven years in prison and a $15,000 fine. He also faces four first-degree felony charges punishable by up to 20 years in prison and a $100,000 fine.
