Mass. PT pleads guilty to Medicare fraud

A Framingham, MA, PT pleaded guilty to illegally billing Medicare for at least $55,000 worth of physical therapy she either did not provide or provided incompletely to patients, reported PRNewswire.
Ho Ling Lai worked as a PT for three different visiting nurse associations at the same time and reportedly billed Medicare for services provided on the same day at the same time, but in different towns to different Medicare beneficiaries.
Lai faces a maximum sentence of 10 years in prison and a $250,000 fine when she is sentenced on November 27.
