HealthSouth acquires seven Indiana facilities
Rehab Private Practice Alert, July 26, 2006
In its first acquisitions since the 1999 $2.7-billion scandal, HealthSouth Corp., purchased seven physical therapy clinics in Indiana this week, according to The Birmingham (AL) News.
HealthSouth bought the seven clinics from Hurrle Orthopaedic, adding 35 employees in the Indianapolis area.
The acquisition is a sign that HealthSouth is trying to make a comeback as one of the largest rehab agencies in the country after almost having to file for bankruptcy in 2003, The Birmingham News said.
