Survey finds more states using HIT
Quality Improvement Monitor, July 21, 2006
Twenty-eight states are planning to use health information technology (HIT) and another seven have implementation under way, according to the third annual survey by the ehealth initiative.
The survey also found the following:

Emphasis on quality, patient safety, and curbing rising healthcare costs rank high as the primary drivers for state leadership around HIT.
Most states are convening or participating in multistakeholder groups engaged in dialogue to develop plans for improving health and healthcare through HIT.
