Nursing home violations to be posted online
LTC Liability Monitor, July 19, 2006
Starting in October, North Carolina residents can view online postings of serious violations and fines against nursing homes and assisted living facilities in the state, according to The News & Observer in Raleigh, N.C. The state Department of Health and Human Services reported that it will post cases where a resident has died or been put in danger of serious injury in nursing homes and adult care homes. The amount the facility was fined for the incident, which can reach $20,000, will also be available, reported The News & Observer. Currently, residents researching violations and fines have to go to the county social services department or the Division of Facility Services, according to the report.
