Primary care physicians disappointed in compensation

Fifty-three percent of primary care physicians say they are disappointed with their income, but the majority are satisfied with their careers, according to a study conducted by Merritt Hawkins.

The survey was given to family practitioners, internists, and pediatricians. Significant findings include the following:

When it came to practice costs, nearly one-quarter of doctors said they doubted whether they could manage the overhead costs their practices would incur five years from now.
