CMS revises guidance for national coverage determinations
Physician Practice Advisor, July 19, 2006
The collection process, Coverage with Evidence Development (CED), will allow Medicare to
- document whether an item or service is appropriate for Medicare beneficiaries under current coverage
- consider future changes in coverage for an item or service
- generate clinical information that will improve the evidence base on which providers base their recommendations to Medicare beneficiaries regarding an item or service
