Fall prevention bill hits Congress
Rehab Private Practice Alert, July 19, 2006
A bill that would enhance education and research for programs to reduce falls in older Americans is in front of both houses of Congress, reported PT Bulletin Online.
Senator Mike Enzi (R-WY) and representatives Ralph Hall (R-TX) and Frank Palone (D-NJ) sponsored The Keeping Seniors Safe From Falls Act (S 1531/HR 5608) last week.
The American Physical Therapy Association has already given its support to the bill because PTs play a large role in fall prevention among the elderly, PT Bulletin Online reported.
