Hearing on Imaging Act slated for today
The bill to counteract Deficit Reduction Act imaging cuts was expected to have its day in court today.
The House Energy and Commerce Subcommittee on Health plans to hear testimony in support of the Access to Medicare Imaging Act (H.R. 5704), Tuesday, July 18, 2006, at 10 a.m., EST, according to a release from the American College of Radiology (ACR).
The bill proposes a budget-neutral, two-year moratorium on Medicare technical component reimbursement cuts for in-office imaging included in the Deficit Reduction Act of 2005 pending a Government Accountability Office (GAO) study, the release states.
Arl Van Moore, Jr, MD, FACR, chair of the ACR Board of Chancellors, is scheduled to testify.
