MedicAlert Foundation and MyMedicalRecords.com enter agreement
E-Health Trend Watch, July 14, 2006
The MedicAlert Foundation, maker of medical bracelets, has become a provider of portable electronic health records. The foundation has entered into an agreement with MyMedicalRecords.com, an online records storage and retrieval service.
With the MyMedicalRecords.com platform, the foundation will be able to have clinical data as part of a member's record. The foundation will make MyMedicalRecords.com available to its four million members.
MyMedicalRecords.com provides patients with an online data-storage service. Patients can fax records that are converted and stored as PDF documents, upload images, and call in information on voice files. Patients can also fill out forms for prescription drugs, medical histories, and diagnoses. Patients control access to the records.
